PROBLEM RESOLUTION
- Minute Maid Ballpark
Our first major obstacle was the project mobilization time frame. We had three months to perform document review and jobsite inspections. During this time there were numerous RFIs, resolutions and meetings taking place.
Major system startup was taking place 30 days from grand opening. We increased manpower day and night to accommodate critical comfort systems and life safety systems. Coordination efforts between city officials, architects, engineers, contractors, and ourselves went quite smoothly.
Throughout the season there were systems under correction. Sometimes not even started and commissioned until well into the opening. Our number one concern was occupant comfort and safety. The communication path was perfect. Hot and cold calls were attended to while completing our critical time path. The mechanical engineer, architect, owner, and contractors were well informed throughout this process.
This project is an example of sheer commitment and professionalism of every member of our staff.
- Reliant Stadium
We were awarded the contract only eight months prior to mobilization. The document assembly and review was started immediately. Within 30 days we turned in several RFI discrepancies to the architect and engineering teams. Our RFIs created the installation of two new AHU's and several fan changes.
Due to the late system start-up and control completion, we had to work several of our technicians on alternate shifts to accomplish the majority of the test and balance prior to the successful grand opening. Countless hours were spent in meetings with all trades, architects, and engineers to help them understand and correct our deficient items.
Our project supervisor and technicians gained tremendous experience with all different types of scaffolding and swing stages. The life safety system performance was initially less then expected. An extreme amount of attention was given to correcting and finalizing these systems. Our company was extremely pleased the day we received a total system balance acceptance by the engineer and architect. Our motto on this job became "Don't give up until we know it is right".
- Wal-Mart, Inc.

Wal-Mart requires total perfection and quality. We have been working with them since 1990. This alone indicates our commitment and qualified manpower. We have actively assisted Wal-Mart in design issues, equipment problems, contractor installation, plus several other related challenges over the years. We strive to keep the smiley face our direction.
- Harris County Criminal Justice Courthouse

We had sufficient time for document review and comments, plus job site inspections. The floor phasing on this project provided a slight challenge, nothing out of the ordinary. The greatest obstacle to overcome on this project was certifying the life safety systems. Countless hours were spent with Carter-Burgess personnel assisting them on system conformance. Between Carter-Burgess, the contractor, and ourselves, the complicated smoke control, evacuation systems, stairwell pressurization, and other life safety systems, all meet required conformity. The team approach was definitely important on this job.
